Simply Red Picture
Simply Red are an English pop band, formed in the mid 1980s. Simply Red's roots originate from the notorious 1976 Sex Pistolsgig at the Lesser Free Trade Hall in Manchester. Manchester art student Mick Hucknall was one of the many young music fans present (along with original members of The Falland lesser luminaries such as Joy Division, The Smithsand Buzzcocks) who was inspired to form a band after witnessing that gig. The first incarnation of the band was a punkgroup called The Frantic Elevators. This band existed for 7 years, with limited releases on local labels, but split in 1984 with only limited local attention and critical acclaim for their final single, "Holding Back the Years".

Blue Lyrics

Simply Red

Im blue blue like a monday morning
Raised up in a way that I can value
All the material things that I could ever really need dont matter
So many ways that I can thank you
But you know that I am here and no one else in this world will matter
Im blue blue like a monday morning
Its true its you thats got me yearning
For a love that will last forever
Wishing that somebody somewhere
Would break through these wrought iron doors and just smile
Because Im blue
I cant get emote to try and tell you
All the love that I have
Am I ever gonna make it happen
So many ways that I can thank you
But you know that Im here and no one else in this
World will matter
Im blue blue like monday morning
Its true its you thats got me yearning
Because Im blue nobody knows that Im blue
